In a recent partnership, TERLI supported a Germany-based energy storage distributor in producing and certifying a customized batch of home and commercial lithium battery systems. In addition to production, both teams engaged in in-depth technical and regulatory discussions, focusing on the key differences between EU and China battery compliance standards, especially regarding lithium battery safety protocols, thermal protection, and voltage isolation levels.
TERLI also shared best practices in battery transportation regulations, including proper labeling, packaging, and handling in accordance with UN3480/UN3481 classification for dangerous goods.
These exchanges helped the German client better navigate upcoming energy storage policy changes in Europe, while enhancing mutual understanding of how to streamline certification processes for future custom battery systems intended for the European residential and commercial markets.
To ensure the lithium battery systems met European safety and performance requirements, TERLI arranged comprehensive testing with an accredited third-party laboratory. This included cycle life testing, thermal stability analysis, overcharge protection, and other critical parameters required for CE marking and UN38.3 certification.
The test results verified that the products complied with all necessary standards for certified lithium battery export to Europe, qualifying them for immediate integration into grid-tied or off-grid storage systems.
Once certification was complete, TERLI implemented secure packaging procedures using custom foam-inserted wooden crates, handled container loading, and managed full logistics coordination for smooth export to Germany.
